How Cleft of the Rock Forums Work
Let's suppose for a moment that you are a widow who is having trouble carrying on with her life. The first step would be to complete the Request for Information form shown on this page. In completing the form you might also mention the fact that you have a teenager with a drinking problem. When I receive your request I will send you an e-mail asking you to tell me a little about your situation. My questions are not for the purpose of being nosy, but to help me screen out any people whose stories don't ring true and who really don't belong in one of our groups. When you have responded to my questions I will send you an e-mail with two passwords. One will allow you to enter the widows' forum and the other will allow you to enter the forum for people dealing with loved ones with alcohol problems. A post will be made on the forum introducing you to the group and we encourage you to also introduce yourself by sharing a little about the situation that has brought you to that particular forum. Our goal is to encourage positive interaction between members. Perhaps something about your situation will remind another member of how they handled a particular problem and something in what they share will be useful to you. Even if everyone in the group is baffled by a particular member's problem, all can pray about it and offer support to the individual member. Each forum will strive to maintain the confidentiality of the members. What is said in the forum will stay in the forum. Members who refuse to respect the confidentiality of others will be asked to leave the forums.
